Was with 3 spotted sheep fleeces known as Jacob. Jacob is a fairly rare sheep from biblical times. It gives a multi color and coarse wool very suitable for rugs, wall hangings, macrame. As I discovered later, mixed 50/50 with German Angora it gives a very soft, warm and indestructible yarn I like for hats.
Anyhow I got the fleeces from a first time shepherdess who had never sheared before. So these fleeces were RAW (spinner's technical term for unprocessed fiber), loaded with dingleberries (spinner's technical term for poop), and covered in VM (spinner's technical term for grass, weeds, hay). I was flabbergasted. Visions of spinning soft white billowing clouds of wool disappeared as I hit You Tube.
This is a motivational post because from rank beginner to producer of seleable product took 2 months.
Photos below are one of the Jacobs, raw fleece, batts and yarn.
