Dyeing Shenanigans

Now that it's dry...I like it. Lol. I'm not sure what I would use it for but I like it. I'm not sure what to call it besides volcanic but I like it. Here's how it went. I dyed 50 50 german angora/ targhee wool in Cushings Perfection Acid Dyes. I used orange and yellow together which gave a super bright orange with some yellow showing through.

I then dipped it in Tulip Permanent Fabric Dye- the tie dye kits for cotton. I used purple and royal blue. But instead of salt like the directions asked for I added vinegar which caused an explosion like the Easter Egg Dye Volcanos which I love. Do those every year. It was scary cause I wasn't sure the "magma" would stop rising. It stopped before it overflowed the pot. 😄 I then rinsed and amazingly-unlike Tulip usually does with t shirts and things- it required very little rinsing. It appears color fast. If it is I'm sure its from the volcanic reaction. I will check it later. But wet it was this really ugly army green brown orange thing that dried into a rather nice 4 color of orange predominant, then navy blue, olive green, and a teensy but of purplish brown. Here are pictures from different angles and lights.
